David E. Quinn, M.D. Dr. David Quinn joined Capital Region Orthopaedics in 1991, having trained and previously worked in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His area of sub-specialty interest is the entire upper Dr. Quinn is certified, and re-certified, by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). In addition, he holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Surgery of the Hand, awarded by the ABOS and for which he re-certified in 2003. After graduation from Amherst College (1979), Dr. Quinn received his Medical Doctor degree from Duke University School of Medicine (1983), where he did research on peripheral nerve regeneration. Dr. Quinn's post-graduate training in Surgery (2 years) and Orthopaedic Surgery (3 years) at the University of Pittsburgh was followed by a one-year Fellowship in Surgery of the Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microsurgery, jointly sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh and Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Quinn is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), holds clinical and active staff appointments at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital, and Albany Memorial Hospital, where he was Chief of Surgery from 2000 to 2002. He is a Director on the Board of the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Quinn is committed to continuing education and training. He has presented over 25 invited lectures and has had video productions accepted to the AAOS multi-media library. Dr Quinn is focused on "getting patients moving" by minimizing their pain and maximizing their function, whether in simple daily activities or high-demand sports or work. Dr. Quinn sees patients at the Albany, and Guilderland offices.
