Kaushik Bagchi, M.D.

Dr. Kaushik Bagchi is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon. His specialty interests lie in the field of orthopedic trauma. He specializes in the treatment of fractures, dislocations, ligament and tendon injuries in adults and children. His expertise encompasses the management of complex and severe trauma, and complications of trauma (unhealed or poorly healed fractures, deformity, arthritis, stiffness, and infection).

Dr. Bagchi received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Research endeavors included topics in biomechanics and biomedical engineering. Dr. Bagchi received his medical degree from S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook. Later, he completed his surgical internship at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, and then his orthopedic residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. He completed additional fellowship training in Orthopedic Trauma at Cooper Hospital (UMDNJ) in New Jersey. Dr. Bagchi has published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented at national conferences.

Dr. Bagchi previously was Assistant Professor at the UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Orthopedic Trauma Service, whose mission was to treat severely and multiply injured patients. Dr. Bagchi was involved in resident and medical student teaching and research.

Dr. Bagchi joined Capital Region Orthopedics in 2008 as a full-time faculty member. His practice includes the treatment of many orthopedic conditions, with specialization in traumatic injuries of the upper and lower extremities and pelvis. Dr. Bagchi has ample experience in the non-surgical and surgical treatment of these conditions.

Dr. Bagchi sees patients at the Albany and Latham offices.
